2009 Volkswagen Jetta TDI Diesel
Diesel: The best solution for performance and fuel
By Lauren Fix, The Car Coach®
2009 Volkswagen Jetta TDI Diesel is definitely a GREEN RIDE
Diesel is all the craze in Europe and finally gaining ground in the US. If you haven’t had the opportunity to drive a diesel car or SUV, I suggest you take the new Jetta for a spin. You wouldn’t know it from the outside, as it looks the same as the gasoline version. Even when starting the car, you might think it would be loud, noisy and smelly. Oh no my friend, you will enjoy a quiet, clean burning, fun, sporty car that anyone would love.
The sales numbers on the Jetta is a reflection that consumers want green rides that are fun to drive, can get out of their own way and get great fuel economy – PLUS are able to haul a trailer if they want. Your solution is diesel. Hybrid owners have a reason to be worried- they aren’t able to tow anything and can tend to be under powered. The facts are that today’s diesel technology is the greenest thing to hit to auto industry in the last year.
The 2009 Volkswagen Jetta TDI was named “Green Car of the Year,” beating the popular Ford Fusion and Saturn Vue hybrids because it has achieved emissions certification in all 50 states without the use of special additives or extraordinary measures. It also achieves estimated highway fuel economy of 41 mpg with greatly reduced greenhouse gas emissions. Do I have you interested in owning one?
Have you also noted the diesel prices lately? These days they either match regular grade gasoline or are priced way less.
VW has really created a fun car to drive and with the choice of diesel I was able to get a combined fuel economy of over 35 mpg. With a great sound system and plenty of storage, this is a great choice. I recommend you take one for a spin.
