2013 LA Auto Show Overview
Hello, I’m Lauren Fix, The Car Coach. The 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show (2013 LA Auto Show) presents 50 new cars to the public and it’s all about technology, style, and green vehicles. Everything has the glitz and glamour of Hollywood. Let’s take a closer look.
These debuts highlighted the latest in-car technologies, as well as continued fuel-efficiency with several and hybrid, electric cars. The buzz is all about hybrid and electric vehicles mixed with performance and technology.
Let’s highlight of few of the hottest new vehicles at the 2013 LA Auto Show:
Honda Accord Named “2014 Green Car of the Year”
The Honda Accord was named this year’s Green Car of the Year. It comes in gas, hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions. You may have thought the winner would be the hybrid model, but the whole Honda Accord line-up won the coveted award, including the gas-powered versions with four- and six-cylinder engines. The Accord Hybrid gets EPA-estimated 50 miles per gallon in city driving and 47 on the highway.
Jaguar F-Type Coupe
The shining star of the LA Auto Show came in the form of the all-new Jaguar F-Type Coupe. With its sleek and sexy design, the F-TYPE R Coupe headlines the new F-Type Coupe model line-up with a 550hp 5-liter supercharged V8 engine, enabling acceleration from 0-60 mph in 4.0 seconds, and a top speed of 186 mph.
Porsche Macan
The much anticipated Porsche Macan is a compact SUV. It was unveiled with two models. The Macan S, powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine with 340 hp, can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 5.0 seconds. The Macan Turbo’s 3.6-liter twin-turbo V6 produces 400 hp and makes the car sprint from zero to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds. The 2015 Porsche Macan models will arrive in US dealerships in late spring of next year, with pricing set at $49,900 for the Macan S and $72,300 for the Macan Turbo.
Chevrolet Colorado
This mid-sized pickup truck is a new segment for Chevy. It will be offered with a new 4- and 6-cylinder engine, 2- and 4WD, and loads of other creature comforts. The Los Angeles International Auto Show has plenty of green cars and performances cars to impress drivers everywhere.
Pick up trucks and performance cars had a strong showing this year. Other manufacturers focused on alternative powered vehicles such as Audi, Honda, Toyota, BMW, Ford, Hyundai and GM.
