The 2013 Lancer is designed to put some pep into your daily commute through the choice of sporty, yet fuel-efficient MIVEC engines, sport-tuned suspensions and the road-gripping confidence that comes from the available All-Wheel Control.
The 2013 Mitsubishi Lancer is available as a sedan and a hatchback with four engines and three transmissions, depending on the trim you choose. Higher trims have standard all-wheel drive, which is a feature few models in this class offer. The premium level GT, Ralliart and Evolution models, offer sharp steering and strong brakes.
Our test drive vehicle is a SE AWD in Rally Red with the 2.4L engine, which had good pickup and provided plenty of performance and handling. From the sporty front grille to the tiny rear spoiler, the Lancer has plenty of details to impress. Inside the Lancer, the higher trims offer harder plastic interior materials compared to similar cars in that segment.
The sound system was powered by a 710-watt Rockford Fosgate® audio system and a 40GB HDD Navigation System with Music Server. If you like bass in your music, you will appreciate this sound system.
The Lancer has spacious front and rear seats and plenty of trunk storage.
The Lancer offers a 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty.
Competes with:
• Nissan Sentra
• Suzuki SX4
• Mazda Mazda3
• Subaru Impreza
• Hyundai Elantra
• Honda Civic
• Toyota Corolla
The 2013 Mitsubishi Lancer is a sporty alternative to conventional economy sedans, but lacks the refinement and fuel economy that most shoppers seek.
Remember, when shopping for a new car, test drive as many vehicles as you can in the class you are looking in to make sure you find the car that is best for you. For more information, go to our website at YNN.com. I’m Lauren Fix, The Car Coach.
