Expert Lauren Fix, the Car Coach tested the new 2015 MINI Cooper John Cooper Works Hardtop through the Taconic Mountains and some of New England’s most beautiful back roads.
With a super–wide stance, ultra–rigid body and incredibly precise handling, MINIs have always felt right at home on the streets and on the track. The brand itself has a long history with motorsports, and never has it been more evident than with the speed and performance handling of this latest generation of the 2015 MINI Cooper John Cooper Works Hardtop.
2008 was the first MINI Cooper John Cooper Works in house. Growth in this exclusive product has increased, expanding the growth with automatic transmission, 75% still manual transmission. Manual is available on every Mini model.

Developed Brembo brakes for the 2015 MINI Cooper John Cooper Works Hardtop, and are very resistant to fade. Performs as stated.

Turbocharged with higher boost and lower compression.
0-60 5.9 mph – automatic

Exhaust system, not quiet, with a larger diameter and chrome tips.
Optional rear diffuser with Enhanced exhaust pipe adjustment for the track.
Exterior design – huge radiator required different cooling so the grilles change the front end look. All vents are functional and are better for aerodynamics and drag coefficient.
LED head and tail lamps.
New wheel design to clear brake calipers and wheels stick out farther and the wheel arches were added for functionality. New side sill as well.
Rear diffuser is more dynamic and reduces rear lift. Rear spoiler is improved which reduces rear lift by 30%.
New color – “Rebel Green”, a heritage color – exclusive too
Also rear roof and side mirrors in red – exclusive
Panoramic roof option – $1000
Special sport seats with wide bolsters and great for racing. Offered in leather.
Stainless and aluminum trim
Heads up display – shows shift points and tach as well as speed.
Custom configuration – 3 wheels, 10 paint colors, and multiple combinations.
