What Makes the 2024 Porsche Panamera SO SPECIAL?

The 2024 Porsche Panamera has proved that a Porsche with four doors is still a Porsche. It’s pretty special. As the brand’s fastback sedan evolves into its third generation, it’s staying true to its sporty mission. A turbocharged 2.9-liter V-6 engine makes 348 horsepower and is hooked up to an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Base Panameras are rear-wheel drive, but the Panamera 4 features all-wheel drive and a C/D estimated 60 mph time of 4.3 seconds.

Two hybrid models—the 4 E-Hybrid and the 4S E-Hybrid, making 463 and 536 horsepower, respectively—will join the lineup for the 2025 model year. A more powerful Turbo E-Hybrid plug-in model is also offered, but we review that model separately. Inside, the Panamera’s cabin can be ordered stripped down to basics, or loaded with luxury flair. A host of displays on the dashboard provide perhaps too much access to the digital world. Tech heads will surely love it, but Porsche purists may find it a bit much. But the Panamera’s real draw is its rear seat and cargo space, which allow it to do double duty as a family sedan.
