When crafting this new high-octane beauty, Lamborghini turned to their tried and true formula of using a big mid mounted V12’s. All the while creating some of most wild designs in the industry. Picking up where the Aventador left off, the engineers at the Bologa, Italy, factory added power and slashed weight. They also sprinkled in technology to create a recipe for the creation of the most powerful production car they have ever produced. The V12 is tuned up to 759 horse power, which launches this vehicle to 60mph from a stand still in just 2.8 seconds. The acceleration doesn’t stop there, the top speed hasn’t been announced but is expected to be over 217mph. The 2017 Lamborghini Centario also benefits from those reduced weight savings –it weighs in at just 3,351lbs dry. This is a quite a bit lighter than the 4085lbs of the Aventador. The car also features a new rear wheel steering system, and extensive use of carbon fiber from the chassis, all the way to the exposed carbon fiber body panels
If you were thinking of heading to your local dealership to put your name on the list, it is already too late to reserve your chassis. Of the 20 coupes and 20 roadsters slated to be produced over the next year, all 40 are spoken for. They were reserved prior to the super car’s unveiling. Thankfully, this most likely means that they are heading to serious Lamborghini collectors. Should one come up on the used market, don’t expect the price to be much reduced, the 2017 Lamborghini Centario comes in quite a bit higher than the next most expensive car in Lamborghini’s line up. In fact, you could purchase 4 Aventadors, and even a Hurcan for the $1.9M that these exquisite chassis were sold for.
