From Photographer Matt Wetzel…
Looking back through the “HCOTM” archives, we see images of some of the best and most technologically advanced car manufacturers of all time. These are often also some of the biggest car companies in the world. As a result, we can easily forget that the car world is also filled with many smaller boutique car makers as well. While these companies may not have the same multi-billion dollar facilities, large race heritage to look back upon, or even parent companies to borrow technology from, they can still produce spectacular vehicles.
Introducing Rezvani: Created by a group of engineers in Irvine California, this small car packs quite the punch and comes wrapped in a seriously nice package. While you may not have heard of this brand before, you probably have heard of Ariel, creators of the Ariel Atom. The Beast borrows underpinnings from the Atom and its chassis, and adds their touch of flair in the suspension, engine, and carbon fiber body work.
The engine is borrowed from Acura, a turbocharged 4 cylinder producing 500 horse power sent to the rear wheels. That power sends the Beast from a standstill to 60 miles per hour in just 3.2 seconds, putting it right up there with the best of the big super car manufacturers. Top speed claims to be 175 miles per hour, which also will give your friends with Ferraris and Lamborghini a run for their money.
Even though the car is produced by a small team, it is still a hand-built rare and exotic machine… which means the price doesn’t come cheap. At a starting price of $200,000, this car will still be out of the hands of many. For those looking at an alternative to the run-of-the-mill sports and super cars, however, look no further.
