This month we are featuring an automobile brand that we have not shared previously, a brand that many Americans may not have had much contact with: Alfa Romeo. While you can find an assortment of Alfa Romeo models (spanning several decades) in most driveways across Europe, the cars never caught on quite as much in the United States. As a result, only a handful of Alfa Romeo cars have graced our shores: most notably the 4C and 8C Alfa Romeo models which are both Italian-built sports and super sports cars. The mass majority of people never knew we had a few of these European/Italian-made cars driving around our streets. Well, all of that is about to change. As part of a global initiative for brand awareness and entrance into the U.S. market, Alfa Romeo has introduced a new model and we’ll be seeing this 2017 model in their U.S. Maserati and Alfa Romeo showrooms shortly.
Meet the 2017 Alfa Romeo Gulia, the newest iteration from the famed Italian marque. The 2017 Gulia combines Alfa Romeo’s rich racing history with modern technologies and that sensuous styling these Italian car manufacturers are known for. The Gulia is a sleek and sexy sedan that can hold its own whether it’s on the road, or on the track against the greats from Germany and the United States. Aimed at the Mid-Size luxury performance sedan car segment, the main rivals for the 2017 Alfa Romeo Gulia will be the BMW 4 Series, Mercedes Benz C Class, the Audi A4/S4 platforms, and the all new Jaguar XE. To compete in this segment an automobile needs innovation, technology, great gas mileage and (most importantly) it needs to offer precision performance when the driver wants it. To meet these goals, the 2017 Gulia employs a Ferrari-derived, aluminum 2.9L Bi-Turbo V6 engine. This engine delivers a class leading 505 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque. This will get a driver and passengers from zero to 60 mph in just 3.8 seconds with a top speed of 191mph. All of that is coupled to a 6 speed manual transmission with optional automatic for those who prefer not to use the three pedal set up.
Adorned with a carbon fiber exterior and race inspired design that has bucket-style sport seats, this car will bring a refreshing look to what the luxury sports sedan segment should embody. Raising the bar for competitors that have for so long dominated the U.S. market unchallenged, the 2017 Alfa Romeo Gulia seeks to gain market share and do so in ultimate style. Expect the car to arrive in 2017. For now, you can see a handful of these cars making their way around the auto show circuit. Contact your local car dealer as soon as possible to get your order in. The 2017 Alfa Romeo Gulia will ensure that you’ll be the talk of the office when you park your Pearl Red, carbon fiber rocket next to the endless parade of mundane grey and black sedans from the competition.
