While new to the Hot Car of the Month features, the Aston Martin lineup is no stranger to the spot light. The latest installment in the DB series is captivating the hearts of millions with its sleek and sexy design Aston Martin is known for. Bringing fresh sheet metal to the line up, the DB11 improves upon Aston Marton’s already wonderful set of grand touring automobiles with improved comfort, power, and luxury features.
The tried and true “Aston Naturally Aspirated V12” has taken a different path for the first time ever, Aston Marton chose to add a set of turbo chargers to the mix. Thus bumping up horse power, performance, and MPGs for anyone who’d care to drive one of these on longer trips. The 5.2L V12 remains relatively unchanged, but the addition of the turbo chargers bumps up the power to a steady 608 horse power and 700 NM of torque. Which also means that this addition is enough to get a fairly hefty grand tourer from 0 to 60 in just a tick over 4 seconds. Not bad when you consider that this car is meant to be a luxury cruiser that elegantly wraps its occupants in crafted leather and various exotic woods. The other new items for the 2017 Aston Martin DB11 are the additions of stop-start technology and cylinder deactivation which promise that the MPG ratings will go up quite a bit over the previous Aston Marten DB9 this car replaces which averaged only 19 MPG highway, and 13 MPG city.
Those looking for three pedals will be sadly disappointed. As of right now, the 2017 Aston Martin DB11 is only being offered with an 8-Speed ZF Transmission. Improvements within the vehicle include a twelve inch LCD display for the driver’s instrument cluster and a second more centrally mounted eight inch screen for both driver and passenger. This second screen will feature the GPS navigation, back up camera, and other selectable features for the car such as music and settings. Continuing through the design of the interior, you won’t be disappointed with the trimmings. The 2017 Aston Martin DB11 will have everything that Aston Martin is known for having: one of the finest, most luxurious and well crafted interiors in the industry. Coming with thousands of options for leathers, metals, woods, and various finishes, the interior is totally customizable. The only limiting factor to the aesthetics of the interior is how much you would like to spend.
Overall, this 2017 Aston Martin DB11 in form is not a far departure from the Astons of years past. But this car is worth it once you get down to and really appreciate the finer details. The 2017 DB11 is everything Aston Martin has learned from the previous DB cars. Making it more refined, while increasing its sports car capabilities at the same time is a tall order, but they’ve done it. Ask anyone who has ever had the privilege of driving one and they’ll tell you that Aston has risen to the challenge and truly produced a remarkable car. The car is currently for sale at dealers, and deliveries should start taking place this fall. Prices start at just over $211,000 USD, with all the options for customization you can expect prices to go north quickly.
