March Hot Car – 2017 Pagani Huayra BC

This is the first time the Pagani brand has been featured on Hot Car of the Month, but don’t think they haven’t been making hot cars. Since Pagani’s inception in 1992, they have been exclusively manufacturing hot cars. It all started with the famed Zonda, which Pagani made for over a decade. Now Pagani is moving on to their newest offering: the 2017 Pagani Huayra BC.
The phrase “This Car is a Work of Art” may be a cliché much overused in the auto industry, but with this iteration it is truly applicable and worthy. More so than any other brand in the world, Pagani makes cars that are art. From the exposed carbon and aluminum shifter mechanisms in the cabin, to the Sonus & Faber sound system tucked behind the seats and wrapped in hand-laid carbon fiber, to the striking lines you see as this car passes by on the road. Everything about this car is an art form. Drawing up this work of art isn’t the only work the CEO and founder does well, though Mr. Horacio Pagani certainly knows how to pen a beautiful car. In Horacio Pagani’s previous role as a lead engineer for Lamborghini (just down the road from Pagani) he helped to develop, in part, the famous Lamborghini Countach’s overall look and construction. While there, Horacio and his team built a special version of the Countach which featured a full carbon fiber and aluminum construction. The version Pagani helped design for Lamborghini weighed only 2,200 pounds in contrast to the standard Countach which tipped the scales at 3,300 pounds.
