THE FIX IS IN AT LIME ROCK PARK
Lakeville, CT (May 25, 2013) – Paul Fix made a triumphant return to the Trans Am Series as he piloted the #4 StopFlex/Beebe Racing/PME/Lamers Chevrolet Corvette past current series points leader and teammate Doug Peterson for the victory in the rain filled event at Lime Rock Park. Fix, replacing Tony Ave in the #4 Corvette, started last in the TA class due to a rained out qualifier cars were gridded based on points. Paul methodically worked his way through the field enroute to the win.
With rainy weather and a full field of cars, patience was the strategy for Fix. Said Fix of the day’s track conditions, “I love racing in the rain. Rain is the great equalizer. It shows the difference between a fast car and what a good driver with a fast car can do.”
“Once I had Doug (Peterson) in my sights, I knew it was a matter of time before I got around him,” said Fix.
For Tony Ave, the win by Fix added to the string of victories by a Tony Ave Racing car. “Paul never put a wheel wrong all weekend,” offered Ave. “We had a little drama with his wiper, but fortunately he was able to see well enough to pull off the win.”
“It was great seeing our cars so dominant the whole race. But, I’m a lot more nervous watching than I ever was driving,” Ave quipped. Ave and team will now undertake preparing the #4 Corvette for the next round at Watkins Glen June 9, 2013 where Paul will be piloting the racecar.
Larry Beebe was pleased with the weekend outcome. Said Beebe, “We are all happy Paul was able to run so strong all weekend, and putting the #4 back in victory lane is just awesome! We can’t wait to go to Watkins Glen.”
